  • Valentine’s Day

The day for lovers is a special day worth mentioning. From our traditional Salmon de San Valentino to the Sweetheart Sopapillas to the ever popular Champagne Margaritas this day is full of romance and great food. Come in early as Desperados always has a little something special for our guests.

  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Greenville Ave. St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been in existence almost as long as Desperados. With humble beginnings, this parade has now grown to enormous proportions and gained national notoriety. The crowds come out in the tens of thousands and Desperados is right in the middle of the action. The Greenville Ave. location is on the parade route and the patio out front is a great place to watch the festivities. You never know what’s going to happen next on this day but we guarantee that you’ll be talking about it for a long time. The parade itself takes place annually on the weekend closest to St. Patrick’s Day but call the restaurant to get the official date. Erin go brah, amigo!
 
 
   

 
  • Cinco de Mayo

This holiday we hold near and dear to our pistolas. Viva Mexico and viva la revolution. This day is always full of surprises, great drink specials and as always, fantastic food. Try the Enchiladas Banderas and sip a Mangorita while we celebrate independence.

 
   
 
  • State Fair of Texas

We began at the great State Fair in 2001 and we are delighted to be there. Deeply ingrained in the history of Texas, the Fair is a wonderful opportunity to meet tons of new friends. Everyone goes to the fair. And the latest Fair Fad is the “Deep Fried Food Competition” which in itself has become famous world wide. Of course Desperados is right there in the thick of things. The first year we participated we made it to the finals with the Deep Fried Cosmopolitan, a rich and creamy cheesecake concoction that almost made it. But in 2007 we struck gold with the “Deep Fried Latte.” We were awarded the Most Creative Fried Food of the Fair and the press was phenomenal. This sopapilla based dessert was then topped with homemade cappuccino ice cream, syrup, whipped cream and instant coffee crystals and is darn good. Now available at the restaurant the Latte made the rounds to all of the local morning T.V. shows, the Dallas Morning News, USA Today and even the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Needless to say the State Fair of Texas is a big deal to Desperados and we are honored to be part of their family. BIGTEX.com

  • Dallas Cowboys

America’s team is the pinnacle of the NFL and we are proud to be a new associate of the Cowboys. 2007 was our rookie season and we were pleased at just how many Cowboys fans love the Desperados Taco. Remember the 4’s as we are in section 4 and 104 of the stadium, at the visitor end zone. We have already taken food to Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg (local sportscasters) and the word is getting out. Great stadium food is always a plus while watching the Cowboys roll over another victim.

 

  • Others

Desperados also participates in many other events throughout the year. We are very active in the community and we are always out helping in our neighborhood’s objectives. The Friends of the Farmer’s Market Hoedown is one of these events. You can also find us at countless school functions as Desperados DOS does many things with the Garland Independent School District. Check us out at the North Texas Irish Festival, the Chilipepperama and LRA’s Salsa Festival to name a few. If someone is partying you’ll probably find us there.
